MELROSE — Singer/songwriter Jon Waterman will appear at OutLoud Open Mike Wednesday, September 26 to kick off the Fall season.
OutLoud-at-the-Beebe Open Mike for poetry, prose, and music features this compelling local musician (www.jonwaterman.com),favoring the evening with original songs and fascinating guitar riffs. A folk balladeer drawing from a variety of traditions, Waterman captures tragedy, irony, and triumph in his musical renditions, whether chronicling historical events, or personal passages.
Open Mike sign-up is at 7:15 p.m. Open Mike starts at 7:30 p.m. Each performer is allotted 10 minutes, before the feature, and shorter slots are usually available after the feature. Creative atmosphere is receptive and respectful. In the Beebe Estate’s art exhibit space, 235 West Foster, Melrose (www.BeebeEstate.org). Parking is available on the grounds.
OutLoud meets the fourth Wednesday of the month, except for breaks in December and August.
