MELROSE — The Melrose Recreation Department is working on a special project to collect sporting equipment, sporting apparel, school supplies, and financial assistance for the nation of Haiti. Organizers will be holding the collection on Saturday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in front of Melrose City Hall, 562 Main St. Look for the white Recreation van.
They will be collecting for men, women, boys and girls:
All Sports Equipment: Balls, jerseys, cleats, socks, whistles, air pumps, coaches/referees uniforms
School Supplies: Pencils, paper, folders, scissors, etc.
Financial Assistance: Checks may be made payable to “Fhylah, Inc.” (Foundation to Help Youth of L’Asile)
