O’Hara, DeMayo rise to top at States

BOSTON—The Melrose Red Raider indoor track team had a very solid showing at the Div. 4 State Finals held last Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center. 

Two athletes medaled at the event and one will continue on to All States this weekend. 

Junior Jack O’Hara become the state bronze medalist in the 600 with a third place finish of 1:24.82. 

Teammate Charles DeMayo also medaled with a 5th place finish in the 2 mile run with a time of 9:55.23. 

Both athletes helped anchor the team’s 4×800 relay team, who placed 16th behind their efforts and that of Ryan Cotugno and Matt Crowley. Their time was 8:59.22. 

O’Hara is slated to represent Melrose in the 600 this Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
