MELROSE — On Thursday, January 16, the Melrose School Committee discussed and announced major aspects of the Superintendent Search process including: the timeline, the composition of the Screening Committee, and multiple tactics to solicit a broad range of community feedback.

The Committee is pleased to provide information about two ways to share your views on the next Melrose Superintendent of Schools: focus groups, which will be facilitated by the Collins Center consultants who are assisting in this process, and an online survey.

Superintendent Search Focus Groups

As part of the Melrose School Committee’s search process for a new Superintendent of Schools, consultants from the Collins Center at UMass Boston will host focus groups for staff, parents and community members to provide input about the type of leader and leadership that will best serve the Melrose Public Schools. This input is important to helping us form a profile of the new superintendent selected to lead our district and will inform the decision making of the Superintendent Search Screening Committee and the Melrose School Committee. The candidate profile also informs potential applicants about the district and job expectations.
