MELROSE — Mayor Gail Infurna, the Melrose Veterans Advisory Board, local veteran organizations, and the Melrose Veterans Services Office invite the public to participate in the 2018 Melrose Memorial Day Parade and other observances.

This year’s parade will honor all veterans, and the theme will be “One team, one fight.” The parade will celebrate all the branches of the armed services, and all veterans are invited to ride or march in the parade as part of the Grand Marshal’s section.

The traditional decoration of the graves will take place at Wyoming Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 26.

Observances on Sunday, May 27, will begin with a tour of the veterans’ monuments, starting with the Honor Roll on Main Street at 11 a.m.

The parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. Floats and antique cars will assemble in front of Memorial Hall at 12:30 p.m., and all other participants will assemble at 1 p.m. The parade will travel down Main Street to the Wyoming Cemetery on Sylvan Street.

Groups or individuals who wish to participate in the parade should call the Veterans Services Office, 781-979-4186, or e-mail Jen Waden in the Veterans Services Office at jwaden@cityofmelrose.org.
