MALDEN — Andrew John Magras, 84, passed away at his home in Malden on October 22, 2019.

Andrew was raised in Lynn and graduated from Lynn Vocational High School. Mr. Magras was a talented machinist working for a steel company in Lynn for many years. He served his country with pride in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He used his talents as a machinist serving on a submarine tender helping repair all the damaged submarines over his Navy career.

Mr. Magras lived in Malden for over 60 years, enjoyed working on old cars and taking trips to Canada and Virginia.

He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Veerman) Magras. Brother of Theresa Pierce and her late husband Dana. Step-father of Karen DiPerna.

Visitation was held at Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday, October 25 with a prayer service by Rev. Demetre Mott. Interment with military honors was at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn. Arrangements by Gately Funeral Home.
