PEABODY — Audrey F. (Johnson) Cameron, 83, longtime Melrose resident, died peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Brooksby Village.

Audrey was born in Truro, Nova Scotia, on August 31, 1935, one of the three children of the late Lewis and Helen (Whiteway) Johnson.

Audrey grew up on a farm in Nova Scotia, eventually graduating from college with an associates degree, and moving to the United States. She met and married the late Ralph P. Cameron on June 7, 1963, and they went on to share 35 wonderful years together.

Audrey and Ralph settled in Melrose where they would raise their young family. She went to work for Graham Radio where she would be employed for more than 20 years.

A loving mother, Audrey dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She was a mother who was actively involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives, and she kept a home that was filled with love.

Upon their retirement, Audrey and Ralph moved to Bonita Springs, Florida. Audrey loved living in Florida. She was active in her community, had a huge group of friends, and took up shuffleboard, participated in the pancake club, and enjoyed biking around the neighborhood among other things.

A strong woman with a soul that sparkled has left this world. Her quick wit, great sense of humor, and loving heart will be deeply missed.
