WAKEFIELD — Carolyn M. Bohling, 81, of Wakefield, formerly of Melrose died June 12, 2019 at the New England Tufts Medical Center.

Born in Somerville on April 6, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Oscar W. and Dorothy (Martin) Kievenaar.

Carolyn was raised in Melrose and attended Melrose High School. She met her husband, John C. Bohling, at a Baptist church group and they married and settled in Wakefield in 1959. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Daughters of the Nile from Aleppo Shrine. Carolyn loved bowling in the Tuesday morning group at the Wakefield Bowladrome and enjoyed travelling to York Beach, Maine all year long.

She was the beloved wife of John C. Bohling. She was the sister of Ruth Kievennar of Largo, Fla., William Kievennar of Greenfield, and the late Jane Keene and her late husband Darrell. Also survived by nieces Julie Peach and her husband William and Kathryn Marcus and her husband Scott, all of Marblehead, and her nephew Peter Horne of Salem.

A graveside service was held at Forest Glade Cemetery on Tuesday. Visitation for relatives and friends was held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday.
