SAUGUS — Catherine D. (Gove) White, of Saugus, died peacefully at the age of 84 on September 27, 2017 surrounded by family.  Catherine was born in Provincetown on November 7, 1932 to George and Frances (Abate) Gove.  She was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. 

Catherine moved to Saugus in 1955 with her late husband Thomas to raise their family and she lived there ever since. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time at the family camp in Barrington New Hampshire, as well as taking trips to Race Point Lighthouse on Cape Cod where her dad was stationed.  Family was everything to Catherine and she will be greatly missed by them all. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas C. White.  Loving mother of Thomas G. White and his wife Lori of Medford, John A. White and his longtime companion Mary Trahan of Loveland, Ohio, James M. White and his wife Dolores of Saugus, and Cathy A. White of Saugus. Devoted grandmother of Thomas and his wife Tami, Brian and his wife Jessica, Christopher, Janelle, Jennifer and her husband Matthew;  Amanda, Sarah, Michael, and Matthew.  Proud great-grandmother of Anthony, Savannah, Jaxson, Josephina, and Matthew.  Also survived by her beloved grand-dogs Sophie and Van.

Visiting Hours were held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Friday, September, 29.  Funeral Procession from the Gately Funeral Home was on Saturday., September, 30 and was followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus.  Entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Last Hope K9 Rescue at support.lasthopeK9.org.
