MELROSE — Claire M. (Hightower) Donaldson, 63, of Melrose, died unexpectedly on April 14, 2018.
Claire is remembered for her generosity and selfless willingness to help those in need. She loved spending time with her grand daughters and taking lots of pictures at family gatherings to mark each special occasion. She was passionate about her work at Spaulding Rehab and was always excited about meeting new fellows and doctors from different parts of the world, who quickly became close friends. In her spare time, Claire enjoyed listening to music and NPR and finding the next great book. Claire will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Claire was the loving mother of Sarah E. Ortins and her husband Brian, and Andrew J. Donaldson and his wife Kathryn, all of Beverly. Cherished grandmother of Caroline, Samantha and Abigail. Caring sister of Francis Hightower of N.H., Robert Hightower, Ellen Hightower, both of Mass., and Marylee Davidson of N.H. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Gately funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Sunday, April 22, from 1-5 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home on Monday, April 23, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
