MELROSE — Elaine F. (Theodore) Erickson, 74, resident of Melrose, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

Born in Boston on December 6, 1944, she was one of six children of the late Nicholas Theodore and Michelina (D’India) DeRuosi and her late husband Peter. She was raised in East Boston where she met her husband, Thomas Erickson, and they raised a family in Everett, before calling Melrose home for the last 20 years.

Elaine worked in several positions, but was well known for her devotion to her family. After Tom experienced medical challenges at a young age, she managed to dutifully care for him, while raising a family. Elaine was a great cook, especially Italian favorites for Tom, and took special delight in hosting family holidays year after year. Elaine put everyone else first, and did everything she could to make everyone happy.

In her free time, she enjoyed spending time around the kitchen table playing cards with her family. She also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, or excursions to go shopping, but more than anything, Elaine was happiest at home with her family.

A sweet, kind-hearted, and generous woman, Elaine will be lovingly remembered for her selfless dedication to her family.

Elaine was the beloved wife of the late Thomas A. Erickson with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Lisa J. Marino of Melrose, and Sheryle Rogato and her husband David of Billerica. Cherished grandmother of Michael Marino of Melrose, and Domenic, Carmine and Karissa Rogato, all of Billerica. Caring sister of Dorothy Hoey of E. Boston, Anthony Theodore and his wife Virginia of Ipswich, and predeceased by siblings Marie Partee and her late husband Gerard, George Theodore, and John Theodore and his late wife Claire. Dear sister-in-law of Ellen Modica of North Reading, and Corinne St. Laurent of E. Boston. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends gathered at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose during visiting hours on Sunday, Sept. 22 and again for her funeral service on Monday. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery. For online tribute or to share a memory, visit RobinsonFuneralHome.com
