MELROSE — Henry M. Hubert, 103, of Melrose, passed away surrounded by family on Feb. 1, 2019.

Henry was born and raised in Somerville and attended Somerville Schools. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. After returning from WWII, he went on to earn his degree in Accounting from Bryant and Stratton College. Henry delivered ice with his father with a horse and wagon, worked as a milkman for Whiting’s Milk in Marblehead for over 25 years and as a custodian for the Melrose Middle School for 18 years before his retirement.

Henry was a member and daily communicant at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield for many years. He was a gentle soul, had a dry sense of humor and enjoyed traveling to England, Alaska and with his brother to California.

Henry was the beloved husband of the late Blanche (Noyes) Hubert. Former spouse of Rita LeBlanc. Loving father of Henry M. Hubert, Jr. and his wife Barbara of N.H., Buddy F. Hubert and his wife Ana, Nancy M. Hubert, all of Melrose and Paul D. Hubert of N.H. Caring brother of James Hubert, Donald Hubert, Anna Hubert and predeceased by one sister and three brothers. Also survived by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield on Friday, Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
