MALDEN — Jennie R.M. (Catino) Martell, 96, of Malden, formerly of Everett, died November 29, 2019.

Jennie was born in Medford on April 18, 1923 to the late Antonio and Rose (Sarni) Catino. She was raised in Medford and attended Medford public schools. She worked as a seamstress in her younger years.  

She married the late Ralph Martell and they settled in Everett to raise their family where they would live for many years. She enjoyed gardening and loved to cook for her family. She also really enjoyed going out to eat with friends and family. Her family was so important to her and being around them was what made her happy.  

Jennie’s family would like to thank the staff at Phillip’s Manor in Malden for the exceptional care they provided during her time there.  

Jennie was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Martell. Loving mother of Donna M. Brooks of Malden, the late Ralph Martell Jr., and mother-in-law of Maureen Martell of Chelmsford. Cherished grandmother of Richard and Laura Brooks; and Kyle, Justin and his wife Sabrina, and Michael Martell. Proud great-grandmother of Ella Martell. Predeceased by her siblings Phyllis DiCarlo, Pat Catino, and Louie Catino and his wife Reesie. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  

Visiting hours were held on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. Funeral procession from the Gately Funeral Home was on Thursday, Dec. 5, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St., Melrose. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
