NORTH READING — John “Ray” Gallant, 70, of North Reading, November 14, 2017, after battling cancer. Beloved husband of Donna (Clifford). Father of Scott Gallant of Portland, Oregon and Laura Gallant of Peabody. Son of the late John L. and Helen Gallant. Brother of Helena Tripp and husband Ted of Texas, Stephen Gallant and wife Linda of Melrose, and Warren Gallant and wife Sue of NM.
Relatives and friends were welcomed at Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St, North Reading on Saturday, November 18. Interment will be private. Please omit flowers and make donations in John’s name to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
John was past Captain of Malden Fire Department, and served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion in Malden and the VFW. Avid with civic virtue and always willing to lend a hand, John enjoyed conversation with everyone, camping with family, golfing, and skiing with friends.
