MELROSE — Katherine Cremin, (Kappy) 74, beloved sister, aunt, godmother, cousin and friend, died suddenly, peacefully, and in the state of grace on May 25, 2019.

Katherine was born in Boston, grew up in Somerville, and spent the last 35 years in Melrose.

She attended St. Polycarp and public schools in Somerville, later studied early childhood education and worked at The Elizabeth Peabody House Preschool on Mystic Ave. in Somerville for 20 years before retiring.

She was an inseparable life companion to her parents Michael and Marie, sister to six siblings, and caring aunt and godmother to dozens of nieces and nephews. She loved Boston sports teams and soap operas and anything lemon.

Katherine, was deeply religious and prayed for everyone she knew or met.

She is loved and missed by her brothers and sisters, Mary, Albert, Anne, Mark and Maureen, her dedicated in-laws, Steven, Loretta and Joe, her many cousins, nieces and nephews. Katherine is predeceased by her brother Michael who she adored and now joins in heaven.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Chapel at the Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Ave., Somerville, on Saturday, June 1 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
