MELROSE — Laura R. (Apruzzese) Limone, 100, passed away at her home on November 27, 2019.

Mrs. Limone was born in Chelsea to the late Vincenzo and Lillian (DiPrizio) Apruzzese, she was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. Laura was a homemaker and has been a resident of Melrose for the past 60 years.  

She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Church and a member of the Sons of Italy. Mrs. Limone and her family have had a second home on Long Beach in Rockport for the past 65 years. Mrs. Limone was a tremendous cook, her home was always spotless, she enjoyed going out with her friends to lunch everyday especially when Bread of Bits of Ireland was in business in downtown Melrose. But above all she cherished her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and all of her very large extended family.  

Laura was the beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Limone. Loving mother of Peter Limone and his wife Carol, Frank Limone and his longtime companion Lauren and Nina McCarthy and her husband William all of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Judi Hayes and her husband Brian of Melrose and Jessica McCarthy of Belmont. Proud great-grandmother of Kyle and Anna Hayes. Caring sister of William Apruzzese and his wife Jean, the late Alfonso Apruzzese and his wife Pauline and the late Louis, John, Charles Apruzzese, Rose Bialkowski and Mary Gallo. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday, December 3. Funeral procession from Gately Funeral Home was on Wednesday, morning December 4, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St. Melrose. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend.
