MELROSE — Linda L. (Perry) O’Donnell, 60, of Melrose, passed away after a lengthy illness at home on August 12, 2018.

Linda was born and raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1976. She went on to earn her degree from Bunker Hill College and also received certificates in Dietary Food Service from Essex Agricultural and Technical School. Linda worked as the Director of Food Service for Northeast Metro Tech in Wakefield for over 10 years. She was a lifelong Melrose resident and member of both St. Mary’s and Incarnation Churches in Melrose for many years.

Linda was a member of the PTO at the Beebe School in Melrose and a Melrose Girl Scout Troop Leader for many years. She enjoyed spending her time at the family pool, decorating her home for halloween and holidays and family vacations at Newfound Lake and Lake Winnipesaukee. Linda loved gardening, shopping, swimming, painting and her family was the most important part of her life.

She was the beloved wife of Richard D. “Dickie” O’Donnell for 37 years. Loving mother of Sharon M. O’Donnell of Melrose and Shauna L. Faulkner and her husband Michael of Tewksbury. Caring sister of Deborah Orsillo of Melrose, Toni Ann Perry and her late husband Randy of R.I. and Anthony Perry and his wife Beth of Tewksbury. Dear friend of Jean Hurley of Medford. Survived by two cats Ty and Ziva. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  

Visiting hours were held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, August 15. A funeral service was held at the Gately Funeral Home on Thursday, August 16. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
