MELROSE — Patricia A. (Brennan) Walsh, 94, passed away at the Bear Hill Nursing Center on February 13, 2019.

Patricia was born in Melrose on August 24, 1924 to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Farrell) Brennan. She was raised in Melrose, graduated from St. Mary’s Grammar School and St. Mary’s High School.

Mrs. Walsh was a lifelong resident of Melrose, a dedicated homemaker to her husband and eight children. Patricia also worked part time for Dr. Jacobovits in Melrose, at the Copley Flair Gift Shop in Boston and the Clements Dress Shop in Melrose. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Church, and member of the St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality, a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Melrose Women’s Club and Garden Club.

She enjoyed traveling to Sandwich on Cape Cod, Wells, Maine, and Drake’s Island, Maine as well as some trips to Ireland and Bermuda. She would spend her winters in Jupiter, Fla., but would often travel to Manhattan to visit her daughter for Christmas.

She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel C. Walsh. Loving mother of Daniel C. Walsh Jr. and his wife Melissa Walz of Beverly, Richard Walsh and his wife Cheryl of Melrose, Julieann Alcorn and her husband Bruce of York, Maine, Christopher Walsh and his wife Melanie of Melrose, David Walsh and his wife Janette of Pembroke, Maribeth Leahy and her husband David of Melrose, Jane Walsh and her husband Scott Stuart of N.Y. and Stephen Walsh of Minnesota. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Saturday, February 23 8:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St. Melrose at 11 a.m. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
