MELROSE — Peter A. Rossetti, 76, a resident of Melrose, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Peter was born in Cambridge on November 26, 1942, and raised in the North End of Boston. After graduating from Christopher Columbus High School in the North End, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served for four years and was honorably discharged in 1964. Peter was married on April 28, 1973 to Joanna Moretti of the North End. Peter worked for 10 years as a crane operator for Local #4 during the building boom of the 1960’s. After the boom, he was employed at Boston University as the Assistant Parking Manager for several years before becoming Assistant Facilities Manager at MIT in Cambridge.

In his free time, Peter found great joy in spending time with his dogs, Sam, Buddy and Rosie. For many years, he also enjoyed visiting the log cabin he and Joanna built in the woods near Moosehead Lake in Greenville, Maine. He enjoyed yard work, clearing trees, and taking care of the property for many years. Peter also loved watching any movie. Peter was a strong minded, independent man. He will be missed.

Peter was the beloved husband of the late Joanna (Moretti) Rossetti with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. Loving son of the late Pietro and Anna (Cefalo) Rossetti. Dear brother of Paul E. Rossetti of Rockland, and brother-in-law of Gerald J. Moretti and his wife Sheila of the North End.
