STONEHAM — On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, Rose Grace Devine, 91, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away.

Daughter of the late Orrin P. and Gilda (Verrengia) Barstow, Rose lived in Malden for nearly 65 years where she raised her family with the late William A. Devine while working as a highly-skilled legal secretary at Goldberg, Goldberg, Goldberg and Hass. Rose also worked at the Malden Chamber of Commerce and devoted many years to the charitable Junior Aid Association.

After moving to Stoneham over 20 years ago, Rose worked in sales at Macy’s representing Chanel where she happily expressed her lifelong taste for elegance. A stunning woman famous for her impeccable dress, sleek cars and sparkling smile, she loved to laugh and dance and enjoy a finely-crafted martini with friends and family.

Her sly sense of humor made her a great favorite among the staff of D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell where she spent the last two of years of her life. She was well cared for and genuinely loved.

Rose is survived by her loving daughter Christine and son-in-law Ron Frauton of Chelmsford, son William and his longtime companion Christine Mitchelson of Stoneham. Beloved grandmother of Adam Frauton and his wife Kristyn and Noelle Schreiber and her husband Michael. Proud great- grandmother of Luke, Shawn, Kyle, Bryanna, Jordyn, Erik and Alyssa. A friend to many both now and past.

Visiting hours were held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, Feb. 5. Procession from the Gately Funeral Home was on Wednesday, Feb. 6, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St., Melrose. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
