MELROSE — Walter F. Hill, 76, of Melrose, died at the Life Care of Stoneham on April 1, 2018.

Walter was born and raised in Everett and went on to graduate from Malden High School, Class of 1960. He resided in Melrose since 1977 and worked as a manager for the Mass. Turnpike Authority for many years before his retirement at the age of 56. Walter was a member of the Winthrop Elks Club in Winthrop for many years and enjoyed baseball, basketball, hockey, football and March madness. He was active at Club 24 many years ago in Malden and liked to spend time in North Conway, N.H.

Walter was the beloved husband of Donna J. (Tomczykowski) Hill. Father of cherished dog Addison. Caring brother of Linda DiCarlo, Roberta Kosses, both of Malden and the late Richard Hill and Patricia Paris. Special friend of Patrick J. Buckley of Waltham. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday, April 5, from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home on Friday, April 6, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
