THE MELROSE High School iRaiders scored their highest regular season finish by finishing 10th out of a field of 42 teams at the Revere High School New England District Event last weekend. The team entered the season believing it would be a rebuilding season as 35% of the team graduated last year. The 10th place finish allowed the iRaiders to become alliance captains and pick from the 7th seed position overall, their higest regular season alliance position. The team’s drivers Conlan Cesar, Bennett Kraunelis, Zach Peet, and Jack Sullivan then competed in several matches before being eliminated in the quarter finals. Success in Revere was largely due to an amazing crew of Freshman who stepped up to fill the shoes of the graduating seniors and the dedication of co-captains Zach Peet and Jack Sullivan with mentors Dick McConville, Jon Rosenfeld, Dan Cerys, and James Horne who built a rich training program that raised the level of engineering excellence to onboard the freshmen crew during the fall-preseason.
