WAKEFIELD — A 55-year-old Lynn man faces multiple charges after the motorcycle he was driving was stopped by police near Main and Green streets Saturday evening.

Police said that Officer John Whaley was in his cruiser heading south on Main Street at about 6 p.m. when saw a gray 2002 Yamaha motorcycle traveling at 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. He also saw the motorcycle pass a vehicle on the right. After stopping the motorcycle, Officer Whaley was able to determine that the plate on the motorcycle was stolen and the driver had a revoked driver’s license.

He will be summonsed to court for receiving stolen property (the license plate), driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured and unregistered motor vehicle, attaching a number plate not assigned to the vehicle, a passing violation and speeding.

Police are investigating a report of a stolen cell phone at Shaw’s after it was called in Friday at about 10:15 a.m.

At about 9:45 p.m. on Friday, a caller in the area of Spring and Greenwood streets reported a rooster on top of his moving vehicle. The Animal Control Officer responded and took custody of the fowl.

At about 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, a caller from Water Street reported seeing a large cat in the area. Police were unable to locate the feline.

At about 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, a caller from Arundel Avenue reported loud music from a party in the neighborhood. Police broke the party up.

At about 10:30 p.m., a caller from Cooper Street reported loud music being played for hours. Police spoke to the individual responsible for the tunes who agreed to cease for the evening.

The Fire Department responded to 29 calls over the weekend, including 15 for medical aid.

On Friday at about 9 p.m., firefighters were called to Drummer Lane on a report of illegal outside burning. The campfire was extinguished by the homeowner.At 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, the firefighters went to the area of Main and Cooper streets on a report of illegal outside burning. The homeowner extinguished the fire.On Sunday at about 10:30 a.m., Wakefield sent a crew to Saugus to assist in batting a fire in that town. The Wakefield crew remained on scene until about 11:45 a.m.The remaining non-medical fire calls involved accidental or malfunctioning alarms.
