WAKEFIELD — Norma G. Lester, 93, of Wakefield died February 7, 2018 in Winchester. Norma was born in Revere on October 26, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Albert and Beatrice (Ege) Gallant. She was raised in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School.
A Wakefield resident for the past 56 years, Norma worked as an Assistant Librarian at the Galvin Middle School of Wakefield and later for the Wakefield Housing Authority. She was a devoted family woman and was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles in ink, Jeopardy, and the Boston sports teams. She will be missed by her dog Mikey.
Norma was the beloved wife of the late James “Ernie” Lester. She was the loving mother of James E. Lester and his wife Paulette of North Attleboro and Jackie Alves of Wakefield. She was the grandmother of Matthew Hodges and wife Maurija Dasraj, James Hodges and Ashley Ouellette and Nicholas Schaefer and great-grandmother to Cole and Greyson Hodges and Braelyn Ouellette. She was also the sister of the late Robert Gallant and his surviving wife Stella.
