TARA DRIVER

NORTH READING — North Reading High School seniors Sophia Casciano and Tara Driver were each recently named spring All-Scholastics by both the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald.

Driver, who will play softball at Niagara University in the fall, is the NRHS softball all-time leader in career home runs with 29. She also finished with 118 career RBIs. She hit six home runs this season for the Div. 2 North champion Hornets.

Driver hit .516 this season with 32 hits. She was also walked a staggering 30 times, as teams pitched away from her for most of the year.

Casciano, the All-State and Cape Ann League pole vault champion, will compete for the UMass-Amherst track and field program.

Casciano set a personal best of 11 feet, 3 inches at All-States this season, representing the 2018 Div. 3 outdoor track and field state champion Hornets. She finished second during that state meet which was held at NR’s Arthur J. Kenney Field.

Congratulations to Casciano and Driver for their well-earned accomplishments.
