NORTH READING — The Hornets opened the 2018 season in style with 15-6 blowout home victory over the Bedford Buccaneers on April 3. Senior captain Kevin Murphy led the way with an outstanding 5 goals and 2 assists. Junior attackman Sean Fagen was equally terrific with 4 goals and 2 assists.

Junior Jay Schille chipped in with 2 goals and 1 assist and fellow junior Mike Sheridan added 2 goals. The strong defensive showing was led by senior captain Jake Bedell and junior goalie Matt Supple who made 6 saves.

Pound Peabody 19-6

Junior Sean Fagen recorded a scintillating 5 goals and 4 assists as the Hornets trounced the visiting Peabody Tanners 19-6 on Thursday afternoon. Kevin Murphy and Mike Sheridan were both exceptional as well with six points apiece. Murphy had 4 goals and 2 assists and Sheridan recorded a goal and 5 assists.

Freshman attackman Jake DiNapoli poured in 4 goals and junior Travis Spencer also added a hat trick with 3 goals and 1 assist. Matt Supple made 8 saves in goal.
