NORTH READING — The staff at North Reading Recreation has announced the following programs. Do you see a program of interest but it’s full? We strongly encourage putting your name on the wait list. We will try our best to accommodate.

North Reading Recreation offers programs for and welcomes all ages and abilities from tots to adults, residents and non-residents alike. For full details on all programs, visit us online at www.northreadingma.gov/parks-recreation or give us a call at 978-664-6016.

Adult Yoga – For ages 18 and older. This program runs on Thursdays from June 6-27 from 5-6 p.m. for a cost of $40. Yoga is held in the Flint Memorial Library activity room. This four week mini Yoga session is designed for all levels and will focus on balance, strength, flexibility and alignment. We’ll build some heat in the body and gradually move to a slow flow class and end with a series of postures to restore your body to a deep sense of relaxation. Wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a mat, water bottle and a blanket or towel.

Adult/Family First Aid and CPR – For ages 16 and older on Monday and Wednesday, June 10 and 12 from 6-9 p.m. for a cost of $60. The sessions are held in the Henry Purnell room at the North Reading Police Department. We’ve joined forces with NRPD to bring First Aid and CPR training to our community. The program is taught in a very relaxed atmosphere where it is easy for everyone to learn and pass certification. Participants must attend both nights to be certified.

Adult Bootcamp – Held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 25 – August 15 from 5:30-6:30 a.m. for a cost of $120. The program is held at the Pavilion at  Ipswich River Park (IRP). Fitness Instructor Dave DuPriest is back with his popular interval class, mixing calisthenics and body weight exercises with cardio and strength training. Designed to be different all the time, participants are pushed harder than they would push themselves. Our goal is to offer encouragement, not intimidation. We want you to have tons of fun but please be prepared for high intensity training.

Summerscape and Kid Connection – Remember to register before to June 1 to receive your early membership discount. Calendars are up online for your viewing. Please give us a call with any questions you may have. We are happy to help.

Sponsor a Child —  We invite you to the “Sponsor a Child” program, where your donation goes toward sending a child to one of the many camps/programs run through North Reading Parks & Recreation. This program’s purpose is simple: to give deserving children a camp experience that might otherwise be out of reach.
