NORTH READING — Angelo L. Chiango, 74, passed after a short illness on Sunday, March 25, 2018. Angelo was born in Boston to Joseph and Rose Chiango on September 19, 1943.

He met the love of his life and partner for life, Patricia, at the age of 11. Angelo and Patricia graduated from East Boston High School and went to college. After graduation from Boston University in 1965, with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Angelo began his 47-year career at General Electric Aircraft Engine Group in Lynn. Angelo and Patricia married in 1966, moved out of the city, and managed the construction of their permanent residence in North Reading, where they raised a close-knit family: son Angelo, Jr. “Andy,” daughter Laurianne, and son Daniel.

Angelo retired from General Electric in 2012. He focused on his family and home projects in North Reading and his adored lake house. He could fix anything. Those who knew him, remember him as a blustery, colorful man, with impeccable integrity and determination. He seldom went unnoticed. He led a happy, productive, and healthy life. He left us too soon, but his legacy is strong.

He is survived by his beloved family: wife, Patricia; his son Andy and his wife Lori; his daughter Laurianne Galvin and her husband Barry; his son Dan and his wife Megan; his eight grandchildren, Chas, Courtney, Caitlyn, Samantha, Ashley, Kristen, Olivia, and Alexander; and his brother Augie and his wife Linda; and many close friends and neighbors.
