Enjoyed being Mr. Fixit and coaching sports

METHUEN — Anthony “Tony” Moretto, 59, of Methuen and formerly of North Reading, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

Born in Boston on January 29, 1960, he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Kelly) Moretto. Tony was a graduate of North Reading High School. He has been a resident of Methuen for the past 16 years and was a member of St. Lucy’s Church.

Tony was a self-employed licensed plumber for many years. He recently worked for Climate Design and Tower & Williams.

Tony always put everyone else first. He had such a big heart and his children and grandson were the absolute world to him. He was the first to crack a joke and always made everyone laugh. He took the most pride in drawing with his children, coaching sports and being Mr. Fixit. He also enjoyed gardening and was a baseball card collector. Tony would turn any normal situation into something fun and exciting.

Family members include his loving wife, Melissa (Cincotta) Moretto; his son, Charles Moretto; his daughters, Toni and Gia Moretto, all of Methuen; brothers, Charles “Chuck” Moretto and his wife Jeanne of Weymouth, Steven Sonia of San Diego, Gary Moretto and his wife Jen of Wilmington and Richard Moretto of Boston; his sisters, Christine MacHugh and her husband Phillip of Wakefield and Charly Moretto of Chicago; his grandson, Jordan Pappalardo and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral was held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Wednesday, November 6, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62), North Reading. Calling hours were held on Tuesday, November 5.
