Cancer survivor for 41 years

CITRUS HILLS, Fla. — June Elaine (Batchelder) O’Donnell, 87, of Citrus Hills (Hernando), Fla., passed away on January 12, 2020. She was born July 24, 1932 in Winchester, Mass. to Lester and Gladys Batchelder of North Reading, Mass.

June graduated from New England Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing, in Boston, with a degree in nursing. She was a 41-year cancer survivor and, after a career in nursing, volunteered with local chapters of the American Cancer Society in both Rhode Island and Florida.

June is survived by her husband, John R. O’Donnell, her brother Herb and his wife Susan Batchelder of Canterbury, N.H.; her two sons and their wives, Kevin and Kim O’Donnell of Mobile, Alabama, and Kris and Karen O’Donnell of Tampa, Florida; her grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kasey, Killian and Konnor; her great-grandson Oliver; and her many nephews and nieces, all of whom she loved and touched deeply.

A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, February 1 at 12 noon at the Ferro Funeral Home, 5955 North Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
