Avid Red Sox fan

RYE, N.H. — Michael J. Cady, 62, of Rye, N.H., and formerly of North Reading, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 16, 1955 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, to the late Richard F. and M. Elizabeth (Vozella) Cady.

Michael was a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, receiving his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1977.

Prior to his retirement, Michael was employed as a construction estimator for Manganaro Northeast in Woburn.

He was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed long walks on the beach with his dog Bo, and was a constant presence in the Portsmouth coffee scene with his brother, Peter.

Survivors include his wife, Heidi (Pizzano) Cady of Rye, N.H.; sons, Jeffrey Cady (Lauren DeLamater) of Somerville, and Daniel Cady (Anna Stevens) of Wakefield, R.I.; twin brother, Peter Cady (Kathryn) of Rye, N.H.; sister, Joan Parise (David) of Rye, N.H.; niece, Alison Cady of Exeter, N.H.; nephews, Richard Cady of Portsmouth, N.H., and Brian Parise (Robina) of Rye, N.H.  Michael is also survived by his dog and faithful companion, Bo.

Services: a time of visitation for family and friends was held on Saturday, February 17, at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home – Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad Street, Portsmouth.
