Former owner/operator of North Reading Auto Body and Bay State Towing

WILMINGTON — Robert C. Greenberg Sr., 82, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2018, surrounded by the people he loved.

“Bob” or “Greenie” for short, was born in Boston on August 14, 1935. He was raised and educated in Medford and graduated from Medford High School.

On March 29, 1958, Bob married the love of his life, Patricia A. Davis, and a 60-year adventure began.

Bob’s life was driven by dedication, an extraordinary work ethic, and passion for life. He had hands of gold and could fix anything he touched. Starting out as an incredibly talented mechanic, Bob took time to learn the ins and outs of the business world. He worked his way up to be the owner and operator of North Reading Auto Body and Bay State Towing Company for over 40 years, finally retiring in 1995.

Aside from his career, Bob excelled and found love for many things. He was a 7 Palm Eagle Scout, an avid fisherman who loved his bass boat, and a traveler who had a love for trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City, as well as to his beautiful second home in Titusville, Florida.

Bob was the beloved husband of 60 years to Patricia A. (Davis) Greenberg, devoted father of the late Patty Ann Greenberg, Robert C. Greenberg Jr. and his wife Deanna of Wilmington, and Ronald A. Greenberg and his wife Dianne of North Reading. Loving “Papa” of Rhiannon, Ronald Jr., Christianna, Robert III, Roger, Richard and great-granddaughter Isabellah. He was the dear son of the late Gilbert and Cora (Porter) Greenberg, and brother of the late Gilbert Greenberg Jr. Bob is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends gathered for visiting hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Wednesday, February 7 from 3 to 8 p.m.
