STONEHAM — Ronald F. (“Ronnie”) Sheppard Sr., 78, of Stoneham passed away after a brief illness on Friday, February 9, 2018.

Ronnie was born on June 26, 1939 in Chelsea to the late Stephen and Mertice (MacNeil) Sheppard. He was a retired truck driver for Severance Trucking Co., Inc. in Dracut. He also proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the late 1950s.

Ronnie was the beloved father of Ronald F. Sheppard Jr. of Reading, Scott Sheppard of Nashua, N.H, and Teresa Amato and her husband Peter of Wilmington. He was the dear grandfather of Craig Sheppard of Tampa, Fla., Christopher Sheppard and his partner Polyanna of Woburn, and Melissa and Peter Amato both of Wilmington; and the great-grandfather of Christopher, Kyle, and Caleb Sheppard all of Woburn. He was also the brother of Bert and his wife Lorraine of Stoneham, Charlie of Fla., and the late John, Ann, Peter, George, Alice, Edward, Alan, Robert, Lawrence and Arthur; and brother-in-law of Claire Sheppard of Billerica, Marie Sheppard of Wakefield, and Billie Donahue and his wife Carol of Ipswich; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his loving dog, Snoopy.

Ronnie will always be remembered for being a loving and generous man. He has touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor by his loving children and grandchildren at a later date.
