Enjoyed traveling, the beach and gardening

LYNNFIELD — Rosemary T. Sarcia, 76, of Lynnfield, formerly of Sandwich and Westford, died Sunday, August 4, 2019 at her residence with her family by her side.

Born in Boston on June 22, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Passanisi) Addesa.

Mrs. Sarcia was raised in the West End of Boston and later in Revere where she graduated from Immaculate Conception High School. Following high school, she went on to work for IBM for a number of years before going on to work as an administrative assistant in the Westford Public School District. Mrs. Sarcia loved to travel, most especially, she enjoyed the beach, shopping “for a bargain,” gardening, and was a member of the Italian American Club of Wakefield.

She was the beloved wife of Domenic R. Sarcia. She was the loving mother of Christine Doherty and her husband Joseph of Pelham, N.H., Charles J. Sarcia and his wife Tierney of Merrimack, N.H., Elizabeth Way and her husband Ferris of Concord, N.C., and Matthew R. Sarcia and his wife Martina of North Reading. She was the sister of Carolyn Faria and her husband William of Lynnfield and the late John Addesa and his surviving wife Frances of Monroe, Conn. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Bryan, Carolyn, Ferris, Lucy, Shealyn, Izabella and Hanna.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Assumption Church, corner of Grove and Salem Streets, Lynnfield at 11:30 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be private.
