WITH HELICOPTERS from Channels 4 and 5 overhead, a deer was rescued on Crystal Lake by first responders from the Wakefield Police and Fire departments in the early morning. Despite these valiant efforts, it was later learned the deer was euthanized due to “deep shock,” multiple lacerations, and several fractured bones in one leg.(Joyce Wood Photo)
