MELROSE — Pizza Palooza, Melrose Rotary’s annual fundraiser, will take place this year on Saturday, April 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School.

The popular event features an abundance of tomato and cheese pie prepared by many of the area’s best pizza chefs, in an all-you-can-taste for a set price.

A special feature of Rotary’s fundraising is partnering with another local organization, usually involving families with children. Accordingly, This year’s partner is The Bridge: A School Community Partnership, the group that matches volunteers in the community with needs in the schools. The Bridge is also the sponsor of the recent wildly successful Annual Trivia Bee.

The Bridge will help Rotary sell tickets and staff the event, and, in return, will share in the profits.

Among the Pizza restaurants that will participate in the Palooza extravaganza are Alfredo’s, Bobby C’s, Comela’s, Dockside, Gerry’s, Greenwood House of Pizza, Lisa’s Pizzeria, Melrose House of Pizza, Papa Gino’s Petrone’s, Stearns and Hill Bistro, Theo’s, Whole Food Market and Wood and Fire.

Tickets for Pizza Palooza cost $10 for adults and $7 for students, with children under 6 eating free. The ticket price includes unlimited tastes of pizza, one beverage and one dessert. Tickets are available at Miter Biter, 479 Main St. or at the door.
