WAKEFIELD — Raymond R. Casavant, 89, of Wakefield died on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Northwood Rehabilitation Center in Lowell.

Born in Winchendon on November 12, 1928, he was the son of the late Lucien and Loretta (Garneau) Casavant.

Mr. Casavant was raised in Gardner and was a graduate of Gardner High School, Class of 1946. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Casavant had lived in Walnut Creek, California for 5 years and Reading for 3 years before coming to Wakefield in 1964. He retired from the United States Postal Service in the Wakefield office. Mr. Casavant had also worked for 20 years at Enterprise Car Rental in Woburn. He enjoyed spending summers in Duxbury in the 1970’s, loved going to antique auctions, showing off his antique collection to his friends, and spending time in his Antique Shop in Rowley.

Mr. Casavant was the husband of the late Priscilla (Girouard) Casavant. Father of Christopher K. Casavant of Wakefield and the late Lisa Casavant. Brother of the late Roger Casavant.

Christopher would like to thank Ken Girouard, Maurice Kayania, Simon Ntune, Nancy Foley, Suzie Oliverira, Jim Grady and other family friends; as well as Hospices Services of Massachusetts for taking such good care of his father.

Funeral service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home in Wakefield.
