LYNNFIELD — Stavros Alexander, 87, of Lynnfield, died on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Rosewood Nursing and Rehab Center in Peabody.

Born in Haverhill on June 16, 1928, he was the son of the late James and Fotene (Koutrou) Alexander.

Mr. Alexander had been a Lynnfield resident since 1955. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1947. Mr. Alexander was a retired plant manager for Samtan Engineering in Malden. He had served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Alexander was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing and was a craftsman who could build, fix or repair anything.

He is survived by his wife, Theodora (Gekas) Alexander. He is also survived by his son, James S. Alexander and his wife Nancy of Lynnfield; his daughter, Denise Coulombe and her husband Steven of Nashua, N.H., and his three grandchildren: Steven J. Alexander, Joanna K. Alexander and Stephanie L. Coulombe. Mr. Alexander was predeceased by his four sisters, Demetra Bluestein, Esmene Gonios, Alkmene Alexander and Julia Banos.

Mr. Alexander’s funeral service was held at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 54 South Common St., Lynn on Friday, July 24. Visitation for relatives and friends was held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, July 23. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
