MEDFORD — Thomas P. Gibson, 66, of Medford, died on Thursday, March 8, 2018.
Thomas was born in Cambridge on March 25, 1951, and was the son of the late John J. and Cecelia M. (Gillis) Leary and Justine R. (Manupelli) McCormack.
Thomas was raised in Boston and Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. Thomas also received an associate’s degree from Bunker Hill Community College. He was retired from over twenty years in the United States Army and was a retired Firefighter for the City of Somerville. Thomas was also a member of the VFW Post 529 of Somerville.
Thomas was the beloved life partner of Geraldine O’Neill of Revere. He was the loving brother of Sheila Swanson and her husband Robert of Calif., John J. Leary and his wife Jean of Wakefield, and the late Dennis G. Leary. He was the devoted uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Thomas’ funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield on Thursday, March 15, beginning at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion Street, Wakefield at 10 a.m. Visitations for family and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 14, from 4-8 p.m.
