WAKEFIELD — The Town Administrator’s office is accepting applications from residents interested in serving on one of the following committees. Interested candidates should submit a resume and letter of interest via email to Sherri Dalton, Executive Assistant to the Town Administrator at sdalton@wakefield.ma.us by Monday April 1 at 4:30 p.m. Appointments will be made in April 2019 by the Town Council.

Conservation Commission

The Conservation Commission meets the first and third Thursday of every month as needed to review petitions from land owners and or developers in regards to projects that may require approval as defined by the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act. The Conservation works closely with the Town Engineer and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.

The Commission meets the first and third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

Veteran’s Advisory Board

The Wakefield Veterans Advisory Board was established in 2012 to provide recommendations to the Town Administrator and oversee the operations of the Wakefield Veteran Services office. The Board brings accountability and provides a strong veteran voice to policies and procedures affecting Wakefield veterans. The board holds public meetings on the third Wednesday night of the month excluding July, August and December.

Recreation Commission

The Recreation Commission shall be responsible for the evaluation of program activities, formulation of overall plans for the program development, and for the scheduling of Town parks and fields. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Heritage Room at the Americal Civic Center.
