NORTH READING —  The section of North Street between Main Street and Lowell Road will be closed to through-traffic from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday morning, September 14, the North Reading DPW has announced.

Only residents will be allowed access to this section of North Street. All other traffic will be detoured to the intersection of Main Street (Rte. 28) and Lowell Road (Rte. 62).

According to the North Reading Police Department and DPW, the road closure is necessary due to tree work taking place near 203 North Street which is located between the Town Hall at 235 North St. and Main Street.

“Residents of Oak, Pine, as well as the Navillus Neighborhood (Bradley, Sachem, Sullivan) will be able to access their homes. Please avoid the area if possible,” the Police Department posted in its online announcement which includes a map of the area and the detour routes.
