LYNNFIELD NATIVE Brandon Troisi (75), a junior offensive lineman at Colby College, was one of seven New England Small College Athletic Conference players named to the 2017 Academic All-District 1 Football Team.

WATERVILLE, Maine — Colby College junior offensive lineman and Lynnfield resident Brandon Troisi was one of seven New England Small College Athletic Conference players named to the 2017 Academic All-District 1 Football Team.

Troisi played left guard and right guard for the Mules this season. He was part of an offensive line that helped Jake Schwern finish second in the NESCAC among running backs in yards per game (71.3). Troisi also was starting when Schwern rushed for a school-record 262 yards on 30 carries in Colby’s 31-20 win over Bowdoin College.

Troisi, at 6-foot-1 and 255 pounds, majors in computer science and has a minor in physics. He is a Colby Presidential Scholar and a two-time NESCAC Fall Academic Team selection.

 The All-District 1 Team is comprised of schools from Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. The College Sports Information Directors Association selects the teams.

Troisi played right tackle for the Lynnfield High School football team. He also wrestled at Lynnfield in the 285 lb. class, where he was named All-League twice and placed third in the Division 3 Finals .He is a member of the Lynnfield Wrestling Hall of Fame. He graduated from LHS in 2015.
