WAKEFIELD — The Wakefield Public Schools Visual Arts Department and the Arts Collaborative of Wakefield invite you to Visual Arts Night at the Americal Civic Center on Tuesday, April 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

It is very exciting to have both events occur at the same time in the same building.

The school K-12 art exhibit will be in the Drill Hall and the ACW portion in the Heritage Room. This display features work from artists 5-65 years old!

WMHS Visual Arts students will be working on computer graphics, 3-D printing, making ceramic works by hand and using potter’s wheels, painting, printing and drawing.

Wakefield Visual Art teachers Meghan Pierre and Amy Drago from the elementary schools, Emily Sevigny and Ann Whelan from Galvin, and Jonathan Berecz, Chris Constantine, Morgan Giannotti, Meg McKenna and Joy Schilling from WMHS will be present to discuss their student’s work.

ACW members have exhibited and sold their work here in Wakefield and all over New England. Visual Arts Night is your opportunity to meet with the artists to talk about their work. Making art takes time and energy; it’s no secret that art is generally made alone in a studio, kitchen, study or basement.

ACW artists welcome the chance to talk about their work including discussing techniques, methods and materials.

Visual Arts Night is a great opportunity for the public to see the great things that are happening in the Wakefield Arts Community. Hope to see you on Tuesday Night.
