WAKEFIELD — Members of the Wakefield Arts & Crafts Society (WACS) got into the Christmas spirit by holding a party on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at their regularly scheduled meeting.

Following a luncheon and gift swap, there was a presentation by Laurie Thies, owner of Mary Rose’s Quilt and Treasures in Reading.

Thies brought with her several of her handmade quilts and other unique items from her shop. She also demonstrated how to make a Snowman Snappy Bag and provided take-home instructions.

Said Linell Nester, “Laurie made one of the bags during the demonstration, and everyone was impressed and looking forward to making one soon.”

Anyone interested in learning more about the WACS is encouraged to contact Jo Ann Rondelli at 617-387-8076 or jarjam3@yahoo.com.

All meetings are held at the Wakefield/Lynnfield United Methodist, 273 Vernon St., Wakefield.
