WINDHAM, N.H. — Aletha “Lee” M. Specht, 82, of Windham, N.H. passed away on Sunday morning, September 8, 2019 at Salemhaven Nursing Center in Salem, N.H.

She was born on August 8, 1937 in Melrose, Mass. to Frank and Edna (Hawkes) Layton. Aletha attended local schools and graduated from Wakefield (Mass.) High School in 1955. She worked at various places including Revere Knitting Mills, before going on to work at Nixdorf Computer, and finally at Braun/Gillette until her retirement.

Aletha married the love of her life, Robert G. Specht, on September 11, 1965. The couple raised their family in Wakefield before moving to Hampstead in 1998.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Specht; her children, Tom Specht of Exeter, N.H. and Roxanne Winslow and her husband Brad of Danbury, N.H.; her sister, Ferne Harmon; her grandchildren, Sydney Specht, Pamela Storlazzi and her husband Anthony, and Ross Davies; as well as three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Evan, and Brett Storlazzi.

In addition to her parents, Aletha was predeceased by her brother, Walter “Buddy” Layton.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 12 from 10 a.m.-12 noon at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, N.H. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Cemetery on the Plains.
