BEVERLY — Edward A. “Eddie” Urkiewicz, 61, of Beverly died September 8, 2019.

The Urkiewicz family, along with their extended family, announce with great sadness the loss of their beloved son, brother, and uncle, Eddie Urkiewicz, resident of Beverly. He was born in Brockton on September 2, 1958 to father Edward Anthony Urkiewicz, of Lynnfield, and to mother Ann M. (Saccocia) Urkiewicz, who predeceased him on December 22, 2016.

He attended Lynnfield High School, class of 1976. Eddie dedicated his career years to numerous ventures, including owning a jewelry store in Wakefield, being a Notary Public Constable for the Mass. Justice of the Peace, and executive to the family-owned business, co-founded by his parents, Cardiovascular Instruments of Wakefield. Eddie was also proudly involved with the Blue Knights, Mass V, Constable City of Beverly, and as Deputy Sheriff of Essex County.

Eddie most treasured being surrounded by his close-knit family where “Family Nights” were common on a weekly basis. He also enjoyed his lucky respites to the Foxwoods casino where he was well known for his larger than life personality, generous heart, and comedic sense of humor. He will be forever remembered as being a source of strength, love, and light for all who knew him. He will be sorely missed by the many lives he had touched before returning to his heavenly home.

A shared “Celebration of Life” for Eddie, along with his late mother, Ann M. Urkiewicz, will be held at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Parish on Saturday, November 9 at 10 a.m. at 173 Albion Street, Wakefield to commemorate their lives. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are welcome and can be sent directly to Saint Joseph’s.
