U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War

WAKEFIELD — Eric Broughton Peach, 90, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2018.

Eric was born on November 22, 1927 in Newfoundland, Canada, immigrated to the Unites States, and is a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Eric was pen pals with Audrey Bursey of Newfoundland, Canada during the Korean War and they later married in 1957 in Chelsea. Eric and Audrey made their home in Wakefield for the past 60 years. Eric retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Eric was a loving and doting husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather. Eric and Audrey were inseparable and were a loving tribute as to what a marriage and family should be. He will be missed by all he touched.

Eric is survived by his wife Audrey Peach of Wakefield, his three children, Cynthia Morang and her husband Ted Morang Sr. of Wilmington, Eric Peach and his wife Terry Peach of Wilmington, and Jeff Peach and his wife Celine Peach of Enfield, Conn., his six grandchildren Ted Morang Jr., Tom Morang and his wife Bridget Morang, and their daughter Lily, Kyle Peach, Macy Peach, Amber Peach, and Jeffrey Peach. Eric is also survived by nieces and nephews in Massachusetts, Texas, California, Newfoundland, and across Canada.

His funeral service will be held in the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church, 273 Vernon St., Wakefield on Friday, September 28 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, September 27 from 4-8 p.m.
