Enjoyed deep sea fishing and gardening

READING — Karen A. Deshler (Collings) of Reading, formerly of Wakefield, passed away on July 7, 2018 after a hard-fought battle with brain cancer.

She leaves behind her loving fiancé and life partner Aubrey Stewart of Reading, her brother Stephen Collings and his wife, Karen of Naples, Fla. Karen was the dear aunt of Jennifer Collings of West Roxbury and Amanda Collings Vann and her husband Michael of South Hadley, and great nieces Abigail and Grace Vann.

Karen was born in Stoneham. She graduated from Wakefield High School class of 1962 and the Katherine Gibbs School of Boston. Karen worked in several local businesses, rising to the position of district manager for Viking Industries.

Karen and her fiancé loved deep sea fishing. She also enjoyed gardening with her fiancé and preparing gourmet meals for her family.

Private services will be held this summer.
