WAKEFIELD — Kim Wonoski Moore, 58, of Wakefield passed away after a four year battle with glioblastoma brain cancer on March 17, 2020 at Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.

Kim resided in Lynn before moving to Wakefield when she was entering 9th grade. She attended Wakefield Memorial High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1980. After graduation, Kim was employed in the Loss Prevention Department at Marshalls of Woburn, Attorney’s Madigan & McBride of Danvers, and BC&F Real Estate in Boston.

At the age of 40, Kim returned to school to study nursing while working as a CNA at Winchester Hospital through their novice nurse program. Kim graduated from Regis College School of Nursing in 2009, receiving her RN certification. Kim was a Clinical Lead Nurse at Winchester Hospital prior to being diagnosed with brain cancer. She beat the odds of a 15 month survival rate and lived almost four more years after being diagnosed. We were the lucky ones to have her with us as long as we did.

Kim was a natural caregiver and enjoyed spending time at her happy place at the family cottage on the shores of Sebago Lake in Maine where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Kim leaves behind her husband, David and her sons, Brian and Stephen; her mother, Janet Giles and her partner, Ed Flaherty all of Wakefield; her father, Ed Wonoski and his wife Pat of Ft. Myers, Florida; her brother Ken and wife Karen Wonoski of Beverly; brother, David Wonoski of Lynn; sister, Deborah Wonoski Snow of Moltonboro, N.H.; along with many nieces and nephews.

Public memorial services for Kim will be announced at a later date.
