WAKEFIELD — Phyllis M. King, 94, of Wakefield, formerly of Medford and Somerville, died Monday, September 17, 2018 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Boston on October 5, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Sacco) Venuti.

Phyllis was raised and educated in the North End of Boston. She had been a longtime Medford resident and before that had spent many years in Somerville. She loved cooking, baking, and shopping.

She was the beloved wife of the late William King. She was the loving mother of JoAnn M. Grasso of Wakefield, Donna M. Rogers of Wakefield, and Michael D. Sgro and his wife Karen of Nashua, N.H. She was the sister of the late Charles, Manuel, and Arthur Venuti and Lena Peracchi. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Karen, Steven, Vicki, Melissa, David, and Christopher; as well as, eight great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Interment, Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
